Budd M1A – Metro-North Railroad (Scaled Capacity)
Budd M1A – Metro-North Railroad (Scaled Capacity)
This mod adds the Budd M1A in its Metro-North Railroad configuration to Transport Fever 2. In this version, the car’s capacity is scaled for better gameplay. A married pair will hold 46 passengers.
Introduced in 1968 as the “Metropolitan 1,” Budd’s M1 EMU rail car helped overhaul the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Agency’s ageing, prewar fleet. The new design sought a middle ground between traditional rail service and rapid transit, ushering in a new era of commuting in the Tristate area.
Following the dissolution of the Penn Central and New York Central railroads, among others, the MTA formed Metro-North, which provides commuter service through much of western Connecticut into New York City. M1 and M3 cars operated by Metro-North are designated as M1A and M3A, respectively.

This is my first attempt at modelling, texturing, and/or scripting anything whatsoever. Please keep that in mind. I need to thank YstlDystl, whose newspaper vending machine tutorial provided essential guidance. Very special thanks go to Maik, who held my hand through this entire process and endured more than three months of incessant (and often dumb) questions. You’re indispensable, my friend. Most-special thanks, though, go to my partner, Chelsi, who supported me throughout despite my near-obsessive fixation on this stupid mod. She’s happy to have me back.
The mod’s GSI G70 bogies were provided by Maik (models) and Skyjoe (textures). They’re gratefully used here with permission.
Please note: in its current form, the train functions on diesel power so that an extra, third-rail mod isn’t required. I recommend downloading the MOTRAS Project mod, which includes the correct, 1219mm platform.
