Based on San Diego topography. Factories are generally located in the cities that require the product. Resources like oil and wood are generally concentrated. Heavy manufacturing, steel, refineries, farms etc. are highly concentrated far from the city.
San Diego consists of 9 neighborhoods That will grow into a large metro area. In the outlying area are the cities of Chula Vista, Coronado, la Playa, Mission Bay, and several towns in Mission Valley. Your job before you hang at the beach, is to supply the citizens with the products they need to prosper.
There are huge numbers of resources. It is a challenge to get them all online and then move the product into the city. Have fun.
