British Rail Class 26 Diesel Locomotive.
A total of 47 of the class were ordered by British Rail as part of the Modernization Plan, with the first delivered in 1958. The class operated both passenger and freight services, initially around London, but primarily within the Scottish region. Withdrawal of the class began in 1990 with the last of the class being withdrawn in 1993. Thirteen were secured for preservation.
