Shaoshan 3 electric locomotive, code SS3, is a main line freight electric locomotive successfully developed by Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Factory and Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute in 1979 after absorbing the mature experience of 6G type imported from France, Shaoshan 1 type and Shaoshan 2 type electric locomotive in China, and put into mass production in 1986. At present, many railroad bureaus and local railroads choose to take Shaoshan type 3 electric locomotives out of active service or seal them for dismantling …… but their story is far from over. The Shaoshan 3 electric locomotive (later called SS3) made by our factory includes the later improved 4000 series. The biggest difference in appearance between the early SS3 and 4000 series is that the 4000 uses parallel traction ties. The appearance of the two air conditioners were restored while restoring the transformation characteristics.

In this SS3 type electric locomotive package, each locomotive number section is used, so the locomotive manufacturing plant nameplate made for different manufacturers also made different reductions.

Simple restoration of the SS3 electric locomotive’s driver’s cab and installation of a dynamic locomotive signal function with green light when running and red and yellow light after stopping.

Some locomotives were retrofitted with reconnection sockets for reconnection control at a later stage, but a review of the data showed that the usage of reconnection sockets was not high due to some technical problems. However, they were reactivated after the renovation of this plant.

The two link harnesses are separate parts (essentially 0 length unpowered locomotives) you can manually reconnect the two locomotives with reconnection sockets or use them separately, but of course we have crew shifts for each locomotive so they can operate without the link harnesses!

This package contains Shaoshan 3 electric locomotives and the technically modified 4000 series, and produces grass green, dark green and white, Shenshuo Railway blue and white, Shenhua Railway and other painting and corresponding reconnection control connection line accessories.

SS3 locomotive No. 0146 (has been rebuilt with 4000 series) belongs to Wu Bureau Xiang section, painted in dark green and white, unlocked year: 1985.

SS3 0443 locomotive (has undergone 4000 series renovation) belongs to the Huai section of the Guangzhou Railway, painted in grass green, unlocked year: 1986.
