DB Class 65
DB Class 65
Wunderbare Weihnachts Werkstatt 2021 is happening from Dec 1st to Dec 24th.
The 65 series were new construction locomotives for the Deutsche Bundesbahn and were intended for passenger transport in suburban and light rail traffic. There they were supposed to replace old Prussian steam locomotives. The machines were supplied by Krauss-Maffei, who initially delivered 13 machines in 1951 and five more from 1955 to 1956. The first machine, the number 65 007, was taken out of service already again in 1966.
Between Düsseldorf and Essen, they ran in test S services at the Essen depot. Freight trains were also transported between Limburg/Lahn and Wiesbaden and around Darmstadt with the locomotives of this series.
