Eidan/Tokyo Metro Series6000 EMU
The Eidan Subway/Tokyo Metro Series 6000 trains have been in commercial operation on the Chiyoda Line since 1971. The concept is a train for the 21st century, with a design influenced by San Francisco BART A class. The asymmetrical design, which had rarely existed before, had a great impact on future Japanese rolling stock. It continued to operate after the Eidan subway was privatized and became the Tokyo Metro, but was retired in 2018.
