This is the breakthrough locomotive at end of Taisho-Era, called class 9900 at first, changed name to class D50 in 1928.
The layout of 2-8-2 was followed for class D51, D52.

So this locomotive was a breakthrough too in transport history in Japan.
After years, this was renovated into class D60, 2-8-4 layout, because of getting old and converting to low-class lines.
