JNR 115 series and MT54 traction sound MOD
JNR 115 series and MT54 traction sound MOD
Sound upgrade MOD for JNR 115 series EMU and various MT54 traction EMU to add multiple sounds. For example, doors open-close or resistor cooling fan blower. Currently compatible with 115, 185, 189, 485, 117, and 419 series EMU MODs.
The MT54 series is a traction motor introduced in 1963 with an output of 120 kW per unit, compared to 100 KW for the MT46 series, and was first used in the 115 series and 165 series, followed by many other JNR suburban, express, and limited express EMUs.
The sound set specification is completed within the syntax of mod.lua, so it does not affect the default sound file structure of each mod. This modding scheme was inspired by MrCheesecake’s EMD 645 Soundset (SD40-2).
If you don’t want to use this sound mod, remove this mod, and it will return to the default sound source specified by the original MODs.
This sound mod applies to the use of some (or all) of the following mods. And it needs to be sorted so that it is loaded after the compatible mod.
Compatible MOD lists:
115 series (by YOMITI)
185 series (by YOMITI)
189 series (by YOMITI)
485 series (by nosrith) – Supported in the August 25, 2022, update
117 series (by pzkfrwdubna) – with performance fix
419 series (by Dadang Ngegame) – with performance and Multiple unit fix
For pzkfrwdubna’s 117 series, the following modifications have been made.
The power output of Moha117 was 1,200kw per car, and that of Moha116 was 0kW, so it was revised to 480kW per car for both power cars.
Traction force was 100 kN for all models, corrected to about 33 kN for powered vehicles and 0 for non-powered vehicles.
The weight of all models was 30 tons, so it was revised to about 45 tons for powered vehicles and about 35 tons for non-powered vehicles.
October 30, 2021: Dadang’s 419 series is now supported. The door closing sound with the train melody refers to the file path of the original mod.
In Dadang’s 419 series, the tractive effort and Multiple Unit modifications are also done on mod.lua.
Since the traction force per train is low at 20 kN (10 kN per power car) and acceleration is slow, the traction force has been increased to 40 kN per train (20 kN per power car).
The layout of the lead car is reversed front to back in relation to the direction of the intermediate car, so it was changed to match real life.
The 419 series has been reorganized to match the direction of the intermediate cars. As follows.
Before:
Tc419 – M418 – Mc419
Tc418 – M418 – Mc419
After:
Mc419 – M418 – Tc419
Mc419 – M418 – Tc418
Existing units need to be replaced after the mod is applied; they also need to be replaced if you want to restore an existing unit after removing the mod.
This performance and multiple units setting is a temporary feature until the original mod fixes it.
