Credit to Lskeetskeet for even better screenshots than I ever could! Truly beautiful sir!
Welcome to pack 2 of the streamlined steel fleet! The NYC 4-6-4 Dreyfuss Hudson!
The second of the famed NYC Hudsons to be streamlined into what I imagine most of the country knows. The spartan helmet Hudson. Streamlined by Henry Dreyfuss, as the nation became captivated by the new diesel power streamlines, the NYC fought back with various streamlined locomotives. From the Commodore to the Empire State Express, the Dreyfuss Hudsons pulled many famed NYC trains, such as the 20th Century limited. The most famous train in the country. The Forte of all the hudsons were excellent performers at top speed, but poor starting or low-speed power.
The Dreyfuss Hudsons are a J3A Super Hudson either with or without the Timkin roller bearing gear.
Whats under the helmet?
11 Different Dreyfuss Hudsons!
– Several will be in the 20th Century Limited color scheme and others will be a in a basic grey stripe.
– 2 blank, recolorable engines! # 619, and 916! 1 with a 6 axle tender and the other with PT-1 Tender.
– 3 different drive wheel sets, Boxpoc, Scullin Disc, and filled Boxpoc.
– 3 Different Tenders , 6 Axle, PT-1, and PT-3/4
– 2 of the Dreyfuss’es are missing their helmet! # 5446 was involved in a collision in 1938. Until the NYC repaired her, she ran missing the helmet. An odd duckling, but I like it.
– Custom Sounds by Mr. Cheesecake
– Modelcitizen Couplers
– 7 different camera angles
– All engines have a corresponding asset!
Again, to balancing, I have been taking my own approach to this. The 6 Axle Tender engines will be lowed cost, but higher to maintain. The PT tender engines will be Higher cost but less to maintain. I’m trying to account
for refueling to a degree.

After this?
With the second of the Streamline Hudsons out… here’s to look for the last one! The Empire State Express 1941. To know more about what is coming down the pipeline, look to the last Hudson Mod to find out more. Thank you again to my fellow modders for their continued support and guidance going through my mods! All your help is greatly appreciated to help bring these locomotives to life!
Heads up
From this point, please understand that my mods are rather heavy in poly or texture count. I put a lot of effort into these, to make them as best as possible to be enjoyed. Sorry if you don’t have enough disk space, or computer power to run these.
Thank you for all the amazing screenshots, Mr. LSkeetskeet! No way could I show the Hudsons off like you do!
