STATUE OF LIBERTY is 82m/270ft high (originally 93m/305ft) and it’s because it comes without the star-shaped historical Fort Wood base for ease of access. This colossal neoclassical statue designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its internal metal framework by Gustave Eiffel has been and continues to be the symbol of FREEDOM recognised around the world. It was gifted by France to the United States of America on the 110th anniversary of the signing of U.S. Declaration of Independence.
CRISTO REDENTOR is 40m/131ft high, so 2m higher than the original with the pedestal included. This Art Deco statue created by Paul Landowski has been built by Heitor da Silva Costa between 1922-1931. It sits atop of 700m/2300ft CORCOVADO mountain and overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro. A powerful symbol of Christianity as well as becoming a CULTURAL ICON of the host city and Brazil, it is world-famous.
