Subte de Buenos Aires
Subte de Buenos Aires
The Buenos Aires subway is the first metro system in Latin America and the first in the Southern Hemisphere. Opened in 1913, Line A was created to connect two important points in the city of Buenos Aires at that time, which was the government house (Casa Rosada) with the congress. During the first decade of the 20th century, it expanded rapidly. It currently has 6 lines that interconnect different neighborhoods in the city of Buenos Aires.
The Siemens O&K was the rolling stock of the lines built by the Hispano-Argentina Company of Public Works and Finance (CHADOPyF) and since then it has served on all subway lines except for line B.
