This is sound upgrade MOD for JNR 101 series EMU for MT46 traction sound. Example doors open-close or resistor cooling fan blower. Currently compatible for 101, 153, 157, and 401/421 series EMU MODs.
MT46 is a traction motor that was first used in JNR’s 101 series EMU in 1957. It was compatible with cardan drive, allowing for higher speeds and higher acceleration/deceleration. The output was 100 kW per unit (400 kW per car), and it was subsequently used in 111, 151, 153, 157, 401/421, 451/471 series EMU, etc. However, due to its low output, the production of MT54 (per unit 120 kW, per car 480 kW) was shifted after 1963. For commuter EMUs, production shifted to the more economical MT55.
This sound mod applies to the use of some (or all) of the following mods. And it needs to be sorted so that it is loaded after these compatible mods.
The May 30, 2022, update supported 157 series air-conditioned cars, KuRo 157s, and 153 series. The July 10, 2022 update supports the 401/421 series.
