It’s gold rush in Brazil! Large quantities of gold were found near Ouro Preto in the state of Minas Gerais, not far from Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil at that time. Therefore Ouro Preto, which means ‘black gold’ in Portuguese, became the capital city of Minas Gerais and one of the wealthiest cities in South America. Due to the lack of good infrastructure, transporting the gold to the ocean happened mostly by foot using the so called ‘gold trails’ through the mountainous terrain. Building a decent transport connection between the two capitals would really boost the economy of the region. Are you up to the challenge?
This is a small 1:3 map. It includes 7 cities and 3 supply chains (food, machines, and of course gold). The map was hand painted and all cities and industries were placed carefully and manually. A mod was specially made for this map to give it a nice Brazilian vibe. Hope you enjoy it!
