Howdy folks! Welcome to the 1800s and the Golden Spike Promontory Point pack!
The Central Pacific Jupiter 4-4-0 Locomotive!
Built-in 1868 at the Schenectady Locomotive Works of New York, she and several of her sister engines were dismantled and shipped to Sacramento, California to the Central Pacific’s
headquarters, where they were reassembled for duty.
Jupiter, the main attraction here, was the locomotive present for the final spike; a Golden Spike was driven in to complete the Transcontinental railroad. Connecting the East and West of
the United States. The 2 Great oceans, the Atlantic and Pacific, united.
Jupiter was scrapped in the early 1900s. Today, a replica locomotive runs out of the Golden Spike National Historical Park in Utah.
The Promontory Point Pack Components
32 Different road numbers! 3 based on the historical locomotive. Jupiter Red is what initially the locomotive was thought to be color when the replicas were originally built.
Based on different information, it was determined that Jupiter was indeed blue and red.
Each numbered locomotive has a different Smoke stack, and either has a Grandfather Clock Style headlamp or Jupiter’s Box-style headlamp. A mixture of coal and wood-fueled locomotives.
