Chesapeake & Ohio and Virginian 2-8-4 Pack
Chesapeake & Ohio and Virginian 2-8-4 Pack
Finally, another real workhorse!
Here we have another flagship set of 2-8-4s, the C&O Kanawh! And as an added bonus, Virginian’s BA Class as well!
C&O had their own set of super steam, the Kanawha class. Famed for it’s beauty and is Southern’s only 2-8-4 as well (not included, couldn’t find the eagle). While C&O obtained Pere Marquette’s N-1 class in the merger, these beasts were just as good, if not better. They hauled larger tenders and hauled ass.
The Virginian BA class was remarkably similar, with few differences. The most noticeable was the “buried” steam dome and the even larger tender. There were less than 10 of these made, but still were impressive in their own right and had an even more rumored speed of 87mph! Sadly, none survived.
