ČKD 830 M262.0 (Ponorka)

ČKD 830 M262.0 (Ponorka)

The 830 series cars (until 1988 series M 262.0) were produced in 1949–1960 in three consecutive series. These are the first large, four-axle motor cars, made after World War II for ČSD. Production began in ČKD Stalingrad using a car cabinet supplied by the Královopol engineering plant, later continued by the company Vagónka Tatra Studénka (now Škoda Vagonka). At present, they are no longer in regular operation, but many vehicles have been preserved for nostalgic rides and museum purposes.
The car cabinet is welded from steel profiles. Its frame consists of two-axle chassis, of which only one is driving. It is a storage of chassis without a scatter, and this solution is used for the first time in the ČSD drive vehicle. The storage does not have swivel pins, and the forces between the chassis and the main frame are transmitted by auxiliary connecting rods. The double suspension is made of coil springs.
The car is driven by the newly developed diesel engine CKD 12 in 170 DR, which is stored in the first (normal) chassis with a wheelbase of 3.25 m. that supplies two DC paw electric motors (each 130 kW at 650 V, 200 A). These are stored by means of paw bearings on the second, drive chassis with a wheelbase of 2.5 m. Traction motors have their own ventilation. Improperly designed cooling air intake caused problems with the electrical insulation condition of the engines (the effect of moisture intake into the electric motor with air directly from the outdoor environment under very unfavorable conditions – rain, snowfall). A certain problem (not a technical problem, but a problem with the “human factor”) was reflected in the change of the location of the basic controls on the control counter of the third production series. The driving and direction controller were controlled by the lever (slang “tomato” – known element, for example, on machines 754, 730, 814 and a wide range of locomotives of dependent traction); Both levers were side by side on the counter. The third series cars were changed at the site of the original driving controller was the controller of the directional controller and vice versa – on the site of the original direction controller, the controller was driving). It happened that the driver accidentally rebuilt the direction controller while driving, thinking that the operator was operating a driving controller, which always resulted in serious damage to the equipment in power electrical circuits.
