Class 350 Desiro
Class 350 Desiro
The British Rail Class 350 dual-voltage EMUs began service during 2003. They are a part of the Siemens Desiro modular train family. Used for outer suburban services, the Class 350 was built with standard and first class accommodation. The /1 subclass has a maximum speed of 100 mph (161 km/h).
Some of these were later upgraded, involving improved bogies and the removal of the 3rd rail shoes, in a project known as “Project 110”, this enabled the units to achieve 110mph and they were distinguished under the /4 subclass.
