Cologne suburban train Paula
Starting in 1958, the Cologne transport company procured 25 type T39 railcars and 21 type B39 control cars from DWM, the German wagon and machine factory, for suburban traffic on lines B, P, E7 to Bensberg and Porz. From 1968 the suburban railways were integrated into the tram network and because of the central entrance, trains that were not very suitable for pure tram operation were parked and some were scrapped. Only the Wiener Lokalbahnen, WLB, bought 9 multiple units and 6 control cars and used them on their network until 1993. Then 3 railcars went back to Cologne, where 2 of them are used for the nostalgic operation.
