GWR 'Broad Gauge' Set Mod

GWR 'Broad Gauge' Set Mod

This mod brings you the Broad Gauge tracks of the early GWR and some engines to play with. This pack will be updated with any new Broad Gauge stuff I make, but as of release, you’ve got two engines, 2 coaches and a carry-all wagon.
Contents:
All new Broad Gauge 7ft wide tracks
GWR 2-2-2 ‘Firefly’ Class
GWR 4-2-2 ‘Iron Duke’ Class
4 Wheeler Broad Gauge coach
8 Wheeler Broad Gauge coach
6 Wheeled carry-all flat wagon
— A NOTE ABOUT THE TRACKS —
The tracks are a separate entity, and will not overwrite existing track. The track is also 7ft wide, which means it has issues when encountering Standard Gauge track. Lay your Broad Gauge lines separate from your Standard Gauge, as they are not overly friendly with junctions.
A module has been added to allow you to plop down Broad Gauge track at stations, however you will need CommonAPI2 for this to work. However, Broad Gauge trains will run on Standard Gauge track at stations, but it just looks stupid. Up to you if that matters.
— HOW TO PUT BROAD GAUGE TRACK AT A STATION —
Note: The track is fussy, it needs to be applied to a CommonAPI2 station, not a UK modded station (you can though put UK station parts on to a CommonAPI2 station, allowing Broad Gauge track at those kind of stations.).
Steps:
1. get CommonAPI2 + CommonAPI2 for stations
2. Go into your game with the mods loaded in this order:
1. CommonAPI
2. CommonAPI for stations
3. GWR ‘Broad Gauge’ Set
4 -> anything else
Broad Gauge HAS to come before any other station mods or the track will not work at the stations.
3. Plop down a CommonAPI (vanilla) station
4. Go to configure station
5. Delete Standard Gauge track where not needed
6. Add Broad Gauge track.
— A NOTE ABOUT DEPOTS —
Depots will still have Standard Gauge track, thats something I am working on but its only when you buy a train so I am not overly fussed.
— FAQ —
Q: Why are the sleepers so far apart?
A: That’s just how it was, the sleepers ran longitudinally under the rails
Q: 80mph? Isn’t that a bit overpowered?
A: No, these engines were capable of stupid speeds, UG vehicles are very underbalanced (The Borsig could probably easily do 40mph)
Q: Can I run these on standard track because I am an idiot?
A: Yes but WHY
Q: I think these are too big and this isn’t a question.
A: I thought that too until I saw photos of the rebuilt Iron Duke next to a Castle Class and I was like ‘woah dis boi chunk’.
