Heavyweight Passenger Set: Virginian
Heavyweight Passenger Set: Virginian
Virginian Pullman Heavyweight Coaches
History:
The Virginia Railway had a small fleet of Heavyweight Coaches that they acquired to provide the bare minimum of passenger service along their lines. Often these trains were a handful of combination mail/baggage, baggage/passenger, or baggage/mail/passenger cars, with a coach or two. Like many railroads of the time, the Virginian did own business cars. If I was unable to find a prototype photo of a car, I then used a business car as inspiration. If I couldn’t find a prototype or a business car to base it on, then I made the car in a way that it would fit in with the rest of the set. The goal is that you are unable to tell which cars were based on the prototype and which cars I created myself, thus which ones are fictitious will remain as my little secret.
The Virginian Railway painted their coaches in pullman green with a gray roof that rapidly appeared black due to soot.
