Japan Government Railway 4-6-2 Class 8900 Steam Locomotive
Japan Government Railway 4-6-2 Class 8900 Steam Locomotive
Breif history of Steam Locomotives Class 8900
These locomotives were built in 1911 by the American Locomotive Company.
Initially, Japan wanted ALCO to make 4-6-0 type, but ALCO suggest 4-6-2 for increasing power.
Some the Japanese engineers accept that suggestion, and class 8900 became the first “Pacific” locomotive in Japan.
Though class 8900 doesn’t remain longer, the base design was used in Japanese locomotives after it.
By that means, this locomotive was a great locomotive.
