JR-West 221 and 223 series familly sound MOD
Sound upgrade MOD for JR West 221, 223 series, and various JR-West’s EMU. Door opening and closing sounds and running sounds will be added, as well as the modulation sound of the VVVF inverter for AC traction cars. Currently compatible with 221 and 223 series EMU MODs.
Series 221, which was introduced in 1989 as the first new series in JR West, uses “field added excitation control” for its control system, just like Series 205, 211 and 213. While using a DC direct-winding electric motor, it is possible to use regenerative braking.
Series 223, introduced in 1994, uses VVVF inverter control with AC motors; Series 223-0 uses GTO thyristors in its control unit, and Series 207-1000 has a similar sound.
This sound mod applies to the use of some (or all) of the following mods. Also, this sound MOD needs to be sorted so that it is loaded after the compatible mods.
