Missouri Pacific MT-75 & MT-69 4-8-2

Missouri Pacific MT-75 & MT-69 4-8-2

As always, thank you to Kilroy for the fantastic screenshots!
The Eagle
Hello folks, and welcome back to the USRA era! We have the USRA variation of the Missouri Pacific! The MT-69 & The rebuilt version the MT-75!

READ THIS PLEASE!
As a heads up folks, you will find this locomotive in your buy menu under “multiple unit” under the steam category. The reason you see it under the multiple unit category is the Random numbers mod. In order for it to work the locomotive must have a cargo space. That cargo is 1 passenger. So no, you are not crazy if you see this on your freight trains. This is the workaround for getting the random numbers to work. Honestly well worth it! Normally I’d say you must have a dependent mod active for the random numbers to work, but Meatballhero has allowed me to include the files! No dependents necessary for this one! Also you may want to set a max timer for your trains you want to sit and wait for full at stations.

Slight history
During the first world war the federal government enacted the USRA as an experiment to nationalize the railroads during a wartime emergency. This lasted from December of 1917 to March of 1920. They introduced standardized locomotive and rail car classes known as the USRA Standard.
Changes occurred quickly as once President Wilson issued the order for nationalization. All the railroads were organized into 3 divisions, East, West, and South. A reduction in passenger service occurred to help with decongestion of freight. The current number of locomotives and rolling stock was augmented by new production of up-to-date and standardized types/designed to be the best that could be produced to replace outdated equipment.

These locomotives are excellent in mountain passenger service and fast freight!

MOPAC
I have 22 Light Mountain versions here for you.

This mod took a bit longer than I liked, and it was a lot more than I anticipated. It’s practically a new mod even though it looks similar to the USRA standards.

The MT-75 was an in house rebuilt MT-69 out of the MoPac’s Sedalia shops. They only kept so much from the original that like the mod, is practically a new locomotive. To cut down time on the Scenic Limited the MT-75 had larger drivers mounted to them. Going from 69 to 75″ drivers. Some of the largest drivers put on an 4-8-2 class in the US. They were able to reach speeds of 90 MPH. While they lost a slight bit on the tractive effort they gained the speed & horsepower.

MT-69
– 2 Tenders, a heavier 6 Axle tender used for the MoPac’s berkshires & the USRA Standard.
– Many variations between having Class Lights, to White Wall rims, and a dog house.
– MC Couplers
– Superb sounds by Mrcheesecake as always!
– The MT-69 will have random numbers in the 53##’s range.
– Several locomotives have an asset version, not all I find it unnecessary.
– Matching Generic versions
– 8 different camera views

Stats:
Availability- 1919
Speed – 70 MPH
Horsepower- 4,034
Tractive Effort – 53,900 LBF
Weight- 492,000 lbs. – 4 Axle Tender
Weight- 674,100 – 6 Axle Tender

MT-75
– Oil Tender
– Many variations between having Class Lights, to White Wall rims, and a dog house.
– MC Couplers
– The MT-75 will have random numbers in the 53##’s range.
– A few locomotives have an asset version, not all I find it unnecessary.
– Matching Generic versions
– 8 different camera views

Stats:
Availability- 1939
Speed – 90 MPH
Horsepower- 4,360
Tractive Effort – 53,724 LBF
Weight- 680,100 lbs.

Legend – I will probably find a better way to do this, but for the variations and names… Are as follows
N/ -means not on model
L – refers to class lights
D- dog house on tender
G- generic- no Missouri Pacific info
W- white wall rims.

So example
MT-75 N/L D G – means mt-75 no class lights, but has dog house and is a generic.

Whats next
Now that MoPac is done it’s time to move along to the SOO line Mountains. Probably won’t be as many variations. Mopac version were kinda spur of the moment thoughts. After the SOO comes the New Haven, and that will be the end of my Light Mountain Run.

Still in the pipe after Light Mountains will be the USRA Light Pacific! I already have it UV’ed! Though I am keeping my schedule of mods at the moment. So once the last Light Mountain drops, expect the Light Pacific not far after it! From there the USRA Heavy Mountain and Light Santa Fe.

The USRA locomotives are also ones in which if you simply google USRA and the type of locomotive, you get so many hits on model locomotives.

HEADS UP
From this point, please understand that my mods are rather heavy in poly count. Sorry, I enjoy the detail. I put a lot of effort into these, to make them as best I can to be enjoyed. Sorry, if you don’t have enough disk space or computer power to run these. The models have LOD’s on them to help reduce poly count as you zoom out.
