TEP70 is the main Soviet passenger locomotive since the 80s. It was created to replace the TEP60 and 2TEP60 locos. Mass-producted TEP70 has many differences in comparison to the first TEP70 versions, and most of them were tested on experimental TEP75 locomotives.
