The Rust Belt is a geographic region in the United States stretching from New York through the Midwest that was once involved primarily in steel production and manufacturing. The Rust Belt became an industrial hub due to its proximity to the Great Lakes, canals, rivers, and railways, which allowed companies to gain access to raw materials and ship out finished products. This meca has significantly declined in the past 50 years to to companies outsourcing work over seas, but still is a highly active industrial zone to this day!
Many industries and town demands have been placed in accordance with real world locations, names, and demands. All important Great Lakes, waterways, the Mississippi, Ohio, and Hudson Rivers are usable for barge transportation just like the real world!
