Austrian-Hungarian early double decker coaches
Austrian-Hungarian early double decker coaches
The very first Austrian double-decker coaches were presented at the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 and then delivered to the StEG. They were 3rd class carriages, with compartments below – and a single saloon above. The wagons were very cramped and, because of the short wheelbase, very swaying. Nevertheless, they lasted a long time and came to the kkStB in 1909, where they were retired by 1913.
